Every visit to Longtown Outdoor Learning Centre is unique, and we will tailor your visit to match your desired outcomes and objectives. Let us know what you hope to achieve from your programme and we will work with you to plan a visit that is perfect for your needs.
Choice of Accommodation
Our flexible accommodation can be interconnecting or booked separately meaning we are able to accommodate large school groups up to 70 or two smaller groups. During the warmer months our base camp village can sleep a further 60 people.

Catering
Breakfast and Dinner are served in the Dining Room, Barn or Hive according to the group size and season.
Dinner times include a traditional homecooked 2 course meal. Special diets and food allergies and intolerances can all be catered for with advance notice.
A self serve Breakfast of cereals, toast and fruit is included each morning and children prepare their own packed lunch daily to include a choice of sandwiches, crisps, fruit and snack.
A Sample Programme
Residential breaks are available from 2 to 5 days. A packed lunch is included from day 2 to departure day. Times stated in the sample programme may vary for shorter stays and smaller groups.
Financial Assistance
We offer affordable experiences with a range of pricing options dependent on the time of year, accommodation selected, length of stay and programme choice. We operate two bursary funds to enable all children, regardless of financial circumstances to take part in our courses. We don’t want anyone to miss out and both of these funds make it possible for those who wouldn’t normally be able to afford such an opportunity to be included at generously subsidised rates.
The Wilson Foundation Bursary
For children who live in Northamptonshire financial support is available from the Wilson Foundation. All children who receive free school meals will automatically be given a discounted rate. This price will be given to the school when the residential is booked and gives 30% off the usual rate. There is also a discretionary bursary fund for families that the school has identified as being in significant need of support but who don’t receive free school meals. This bursary also gives up to 30% financial assistance towards the cost of their course fee (this excludes transport fees).
How do I apply for the Wilson Bursary?
All bursaries are applied for by the school. For the children that receive free school meals we need the school to send us the children’s names. For children the school would like to put forward for the discretionary bursary fund, please download the application form and return it to us. Once this has been reviewed we will inform the school of the application outcome.
The Longtown Outdoor Learning Trust Bursary
For children who live outside Northamptonshire, financial support is available from the Longtown Outdoor Learning Trust. All children who receive free school meals will automatically be given a discounted rate. This price will be given to you when the residential is booked and gives 30% off the usual rate.
